Course outline:

This course will explore the Veterinary Nurses’ role in the management of chronic medical cases, through the development of nurse clinics as part of a vet-led strategy.

Creation of standardised protocols for different medical conditions will be addressed as part of the course, and by the course participant in creation of their final coursework.

 

By the end of this course, successful candidates will be able to:

  • Identify cases that are suitable for nurse-led medical management clinics
  • Understand the legal and medical role of the veterinary nurse in the care of chronic cases
  • Develop structure and protocols for clinics in order to provide nurse-led medical care effectively and safely
  • Work effectively with the other team members in the delivery of nurse-led medical management clinics
